The Marin Athletic Foundation was established to support high school athletic programs and to insure that a full range of quality high school sports programs are available to all students, regardless of their individual athletic ability.

We understand that high school athletics complement the education of the whole person. Athletics provide an opportunity for our young people to participate, to grow, and to learn lessons that are not found in the classroom.

School districts must look to the community for help in keeping athletic programs broad and strong, even in adverse economies. As a countywide fundraising organization, MAF plays a vital role in addressing this on-going need.

Together with school districts, booster groups, and the concerned citizens of Marin County, we can provide the funding to enhance and strengthen high school sports.

MAF can appeal to the entire community for support beyond what individual schools and parents can provide. We believe an aware community--individuals, organizations and business--will make a commitment to provide the resources necessary to keep comprehensive school sports programs in place.

Goals:

• To contribute $75,000 each year to high schools of Marin County ;
• To increase community awareness of the value of athletics in the schools and to our children;
• To continue a strong partnership with school trustees, personnel, booster clubs, and the community at large.
